If you would like to learn more about JVCL, you can download our MegaDemo:

http://jvcl.sourceforge.net/files/JVCLDemo.zip

created by Ralf Grenzing and Uwe Rupprecht. This is only a portion of the
over 300 JVCL components.

If you like what you see, you can always download the full source code from

http://jvcl.sourceforge.net

This source is free and OpenSource under MPL.

Mmh.. Before you read this: Forgive me, I surely don't want to make your
Library bad, but ...

I saw the Demo and I didn't see any component that wouldn't be written
by myself in an hour or so.
The other side is that many components have errors / bugs (just run the
demo for about 10 mins and found ~4 bugs)..
The third thing is that this library is just too _big_!
You are throwing and throwing new components in it, and that's not good,
I think.

Just my $0.02

No problem, we appreciate any constructive feedback.

This demo represents only a portion of the library, so you can be assured
that there are many components that would take you more than hour to write
<g> On the other hand, if you use 10 components, you've saved 10 hours of
your time, so IMHO this represents already a benefit to you.

I would appreciate if you could report these bugs via our Issue Tracker:

http://jvcl.sourceforge.net/bugs.htm

I agree that further consolidation is needed. While we're adding new
components, we also consolidate the ones we have. Ver. 2.0 represents
already a significant reorganization, and more is too come. Of course, as
our resources are limited, this takes time, but since it's OpenSource,
everybody is welcome to help us with this task.

Personally I am not that concerned with the size of the library, as with
duplication of features between some of the components, but I am sure that
with the time and with help from the community we'll also fix that as well.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to provide us with your comments,

Michael

hi,

> No problem, we appreciate any constructive feedback.

thanks, again: I _don't_ want to make you lib bad, the oposite: I am
thinking about adding my components to it, but you know I prefer the
indivdual "support" of a component instead of beeing part of 300s..

Okay.

Well, I am a programmer, I would prefer fixing them ;-)

I know its OpenSource, that's why I don't want you to think that I am a
user that wants all and always for free and in spite of that argues
about the product (uh, was this correct english?).

Okay. I'll then await this - you understand :)

You can still do it, even after donating it to JVCL. There are different
ways of doing it, and I would be glad to discuss them with you, if you
decide to donate them.

> Well, I am a programmer, I would prefer fixing them ;-)

Well, you can provide the fix in your Bug report, or you can become one of
JVCL developers, and fix it directly in the future.

> Okay. I'll then await this - you understand :)

Hey, if you help us with that, then it will be sooner :)

I think I'll donate them ... (-> www.alex-adam.de)

Mmh..

I would, but I can't currently.
Writing two books at once and leading two big projects makes me stressed ;)
