I am becoming very frustrated with TChart - it appears that the are
limitations on its use with HP printers that can not be easily resolved.
i.e.
1)there really is no real "fix" for printing problems - it is something
my company has to LIVE WITH.
2)I can not provide my companies s/w to anybody who uses a HP laserjet
printer
without expected major problems that may require upgrading the windows
operating
to 95B (not feasible for most customers & A VERY BIG HASSLE) or
changing/upgrading the HP printer driver (there is no guarantee that
this will help! - it did not help me).
If what I understand is true then I need to look for an alternative
charting package. All I wish to print are very simple 2D bar graphs on a
quick report page - do you have any suggestions on a simple but robust (
none or at least very few minor printing problems) software charting
package that would meet my requirements.
Please help!
Many Thanks
Neal
also,
If the drivers for HP printers are so terrible how is it that so many
printers have been sold and
all software I am familiar with prints ssaisfactorily on them?

Are you using the driver that came with windows, or the current version from
their web site?
Certainly you can't blame TeeChart if it has problems with an obsolete version
of a driver for which an update is readily available.

I am using the current version (downloaded from their website).
So it would seem (accordinging to you note) that I CAN blame TeeChart as the driver is
NOT obsolete. My question remains what use is TeeChart if I can not use with HP printers
(with any sense of security) - what will I tell my customers??? - buy an Epson :-)
Seriously, I would very much like to see this problem resolved with TeeChart or find a more
reliable alternative - any help is GREATLY appreciated.
thanks

The problems usually arise when the printing involves using metafiles. These
make it very simple to implement print previewing. The products that do work
probably are using MFC, which has built in print preview (something Borland,
oops, I mean Inprise, should think about!).
I hope this helps.
