So I'll ask my question here..
in IBConsole - I try to create a new database (have got a local server up
and running and logged on) .... But what happens now is that it requests
some path(es!!??) to the database.. as it already should exist??? Obviously
I don't have the database - that is why I want to create one... there's no
help in the helpfile about this (I can see though that they have described
features not yet implmented too - as an example I don't get the (...) button
I should get when creating new databases on the local server).
any help would be appreciated!

I just checked and all the Interbase groups are active for me. Make certain you
are connecting to either forums.borland.com or newsgroups.borland.com. Those
are the two official news servers for the Borland news groups. Connecting
through a third party can result in not seeing all the groups or your posts not
being pushed to the Borland servers. The Borland servers are private servers
and do not participate with USENET.

in the help it says:
*Enter the filename(s) of the database you wish to create, including the
full directory path appropriate for the type of server on which you are
creating the *database. If you are creating a database on a local server,
the browse button, , will be enabled, giving you the option of selecting the
path using a file selection *dialog
I do have to also add the name of the database - right?
I've tryed this:
in first line wrote:
* Filename(s) section: d:\temp\test\test.gdb
* Size Pages (what is this?) Section: *nothing*
And This Works...
Except, I now get "error connectiong to the requested database" - when I try
to enable/login the database I've just succesfully created (I can even see
it on disc).

Those
well.. actually I tryed to access those listed on interbase.com - when
clicking on their names on the website I can see it tries to open
forums.imprise.com but it can't find the newsgroups there OE then says...
And those newsgroups that are listed on interbase.com .. I can't see them on
newsgroups.borland.com either (the one I always use now). I'll keep trying
though!
