This picture is available starting August 11, 2000 at

Looks like official student boozing attire to me.

If you are correct (and I'm not saying you are), it would be:

official *Swedish* student boozing attire

Please note:

Anders is probably going to kill me tommorrow for posting that picture :)

On the brigher side, the non-tech regulars will finally
be ride of me, and the family will at least get to see him <g>

The picture is somewhat blurred, but the cap is black and looks like a
Norwegian student cap to me (large tassle and everything). I thought
the swedes had white student caps. If that is the case, what is a Swede
doeing with a Norwegian attire ?

I can't tell from the picture but did Anders go to Chalmers?
Looks a bit like the annoying Cortege programe salesmen (for those informed
people)

I guess only Anders would know what I mean :)

All technical universities in Sweden sport silly hats with the silly
tail (or tassle). Most students will still wear them but not as many
as it used to be (100%) and certainly not as often. In fact, wearing
the hat nowadays indicates that alcoholic beverages have been recently
consumed.

Anders's hat looks grey to me which would indicate that he went to KTH
(the uni on Stockholm) or possibly Uppsala (or did they have blue
hats?). Chalmers, which I went to, had white hats in the summer and
black hats in the winter. Finally, all kinds of ornaments on the
tassle would have various symbolic meanings but that is a story too
long (and too tedious) to be told here.

We do, but that's not a student cap. That's a college/university hat.

Different color hat for different universities. Different color attire for different
lines of study - white for Electronics, Pink for CS, etc, etc. The rings on the
tassle of the hat tells you have many years a person went there.

Getting shot by other Swedes, if he did... <g>

Maybe I should take photos of them all and make a web page... <g>

It's a custom to trade your patches with students of other schools
(normally at different boozing parties <g>).

The other ones are any kind of souvenir patch you can imagine.

One in the center of the back says "If found, please mail to this
address..."

I think he was once the leader of a Volvo Gang.

They gave a whole new meaning to a "Drive By"...

If you *can* call that racing, with a Volvo 850. And are you even allowed
to drive that fast overthere?

And somehow a Harley looks cooler than a Volvo 850 too <g>.

Pfffft. I don't really like motorcycles, but if I'd buy one, it would be
a Harley.

Excellent! Kyria just made another Peach Cobbler!!!

Perhaps if I post that picture of Steve Texeria
playing the beatles "BlackBird" on his guitar, he
might show up as well, and we can get him to fork
over the recipie for his most excellent
"Bread Pudding with Whiskey Sauce"
(*before* he shoots me).

In fact, thats what I want for the dessert portion of
my last meal! We can chase it with Absolute from
those cute shot glasses with the Swiss Cantones
on the front.

BTW, If your reading this Steve, I will remind you
that you *promised* to put that recipie into your
last Delphi book, and I have about 40+ witnesses
to back me up!

You should post it to the VB general.discussion forum, which is visited by
Anders' best friends. They would realize why is he posting his stuff in this

No kidding. I don't own a motorcyle, though. Currently, I prefer using a
bicycle if I'm going to "cycle."

If Anders DOES try to run me over on my bicycle, I will just be compelled to
ride over the top of him <g>
