Hi all,

I cannot run my newly installed D6 :-( Every time I try to run it asks for
registration. I go through online registration "successfully" but instead of
launching Delphi the damn thing wants me to register again....and again...
and again...

I exported registry from my other workstation and imported it on this new
one and I have a feeling I messed up something by doing that, but I don know
what...

Any clue, anyone?

I am having a similar issue except with a copy of Delphi 6 that I've been
running for a long time. I never touched the registry (though I did recently
install Windows XP Service Pack 1 since last use of Delphi). All of a
sudden, tonight, it' telling me that I need to register it and, like you,
even though it says I'm successful, I end up in an endless loop of asking me
to register over and over again. What's going on here? I can't use Delphi at
all at this point.

There is a regclean up utility on the delphi cd. I havent got a copy
here handy, so cant give the exact name of the .exe, but i'm sure it
starts with reg***.exe. This deletes all delphi registration details
and should allow you to put the registration code in and have it stay.

But you will have to install all your packages in delphi again.

Kenneth, thanks for letting me know that. I actually imported registry and
got into this mess because of all the custom components that I have :-) I am
trying to avoid reinstalling all of them... but simply make a copy and
import the registry.

There is a RegFlip.exe on the CD but this is just for "Just In Time"
debugger registry settings.

Normally, a better place to ask would be in
borland.public.install.delphi but...

Run regedit, navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Borland\Delphi\6.0
and delete the LM, LMKEY, and LMLIC keys. Then run the registration
wizard again. This is a better solution than running D6RegClean as you
will not need to reinstall 3rd party components or do a Repair install.

Steve
