Hello,

What is the best approach (other than hiring a Spanish speaking person) to
incorporating English-To-Spanish Text Translation into my application?

I'm currently using Delphi 6 Enterprise.

Thank you,

Tracy McClarnon

You could try the Babelfish webservice at http://www.xmethods.com/

Well, I think a can place here a <BG>.

Now serious, you cannot use any automated service to translate english to
spanish or spanish to english. Are so different. The best translator I have
used is babylon because it was oriented to computers and internet and that
is my bussiness, but in some cases it was quite funny.

Joystick -> Manubrio (which in spanish is something like pennis ;-))) )

Hate to burst your bubble Chris, but the EN->ES part of babelfish is
toast last time I checked, which was a couple of days ago.

All the other translations work, though. Weird.

Someone should tell them <g>

It has been working for me all day. Although, I don't know if I want to
depend on babelfish.

Thanks a lot guys.

I've just tested English->Spanish. It still fails. All the others work.

English2Spanish works just great here today. Worked yesterday too. Might be
something at your end??

I would NOT depend on babelfish for my translations, get help from a
professional translator. If you have used resourcestrings and used one unit
for all the text, it should be a simple job for a pro. translator.
Translators usually get paid by the word.

Or you could do the job yourself:

Hm.. I guess so, but it is odd that all the others work. I have even
tested with more than one SOAP implementation.

I dont <g> It's just for testing purposes.

Sure, but the original request was for a way of incorporating
English-To-Spanish Text Translation into the application. I assumed that
this meant on the fly translation, so some sort of translator program is
required. If it is just for static text, always get someone who knows the
language.
