I've tried deleting .RES files, deleting .DCU files and use:
Application.Icon := Application.MainForm.Icon in DPR
and
Application.Icon.LoadFromFile('desired.ico') in DPR
these all work as expected when the application is running but Windows
still shows the torch icon when creating a shortcut or in the explorer
window.
does anyone know what causes this? I've tried everything that I can
think of.
What can be wrong ?
Thanks for every advice for advance

Nothing has worked. I've tried everything I can think of to stop the torch icon
replacing the Application icon. The icon I want shows up on the task bar in Win
95 but Windows uses the torch icon whenever it extracts one to make a shortcut.
Also InstallShield extracts the torch as well!

Find INF-Tool, the *special* setup software or the Resource-Grabber
(collects button images, icons etc. from other EXE/DLL's on your PC)
at www.user.xpoint.at/r.fellner/ ! Or visit the "DELPHI-BOX", one of
the biggest Delphi starting points worldwide (1000+ links and infos) !
When the unit is included in the project Windows uses the torch icon (it's the old
torch I think, from Delphi 1). When I don't include it the torch goes away.
