Hi

I have installed Delphi4 (without Service Pack) on a Windows NT
Workstation with Service Pack 3.
I have installed it under Administrator and then under a normal User
(for the links in the start menu etc..).

There is only one unnormal thing on my computer.
I have installed Delphi4 on a drvie that is linked by the
Windows-Program
Subst. But all other programs work.

Now, when I start (play..) a Delphi-Program I see the message
"BORDBK40.DLL is not registred"
(the original german text: "Der Debugger Kernel BORDBK40.DLL fehlt oder
ist beschädigt").

I have tried to register the dll with regsvr32.

regsvr32 bordbk.dll

But it don't work.
Then I tried:

regsvr32 /u bordbk.dll
regsvr32 bordbk.dll

And I see a Message "...File not found...".
And it don't work...

Please help me !!!!

Bye David from Germany

Where do you get this message?

First of, perform a

regsvr32 /u <full path>\bordbk40.dll

on each copy of bordbk40.dll you run into.

David, secondly please make sure that you only have one copy of the
debugger kernel around - the one copy left should have a time stamp of
4:01 am

If you have more than one copy, delete the remaining copies.

Then call

regsvr32 <full path>\bordbk40.dll

where full path is NOT the SUBST'ed drive, but the "real" drive.

This should work.

Hi David,

did you install D4 or D4.02? if you upgraded to 4.02, the you should
unregister the bordbk40.dll BEFORE upgrading to 4.02 (at least this was the
solution for me!)
regsrv32 ist normally found in c:\winnt\system, so be sure, to have this in
your path.

Hope this helps

Ulrich, the debugger kernel does not have to be on the path.

Hi,

that's correct. What I meant, is that c:\winnt\system has to be in your
path.
Besides, is this method the only method to get that thing working? It is
rather anoying, to manually uninstall this dlls.

The debugger kernel is a COM server.
