I recently installed Delphi 7 on a work laptop to work at home and several things frustratingly won't work.

I can load a project, but forms won't load. The IDE doesn't seem to even know what forms/.FRM files are.

Also, whenever I load Delphi 7 I get "Invalid action registration" for these components:

dcldbx70.bpl
dcllib70.bpl

and when I close Delphi 7 I get these messages:

Access violation at address 00594D49 in module 'coreide70.bpl'. Read of address 00000000.
Access violation at address 04378E5C in module 'dclstd70.bpl'. Read of address 00000000.

Please help!!

It sounds like you may never have applied the updates
for Delphi 7 which were available since 2004

If you right click on Delphi32.exe and select Properties\Version what does it show.
Mine shows 7.0.8.1

Thanks Dennis. I checked mine and it is 7.0.8.1.

I eventually, in total frustration, completely uninstalled and re-installed the application, this time choosing to install everything under the sun.

It all works now...strange.

Thanks for the help,
Alain
