Access violation at address 4200CB3B in module 'boreditu.dll'. Read
of address 1516A500
I got this AV already twice after I installed Update 2 (I am not sure if
tiis an issue of Update 2 or not).
It is appears suddenly when I typing or scrolling editor with some .pas
file...
After this AV appears the only way to continue developing is to restart
Delphi.
Please see post with name in borland.public.attachments newsgroup to get a
log file from EurekaLog component:
Delphi 2005: Access violation at address 4200CB3B in module 'boreditu.dll'.

I tried this and didn't get any errors.
What do you think might be the difference between my system and yours?

I switched from D7 to D2005 using the same project, does that make the
source of the crash more obvious?
It does for me :)

And of course, no help at all.
Really, I wouldnt be like this if I could point you in a simple direction,
any brilliant ideas of where to look?

What I /want/ to hear is something that might be useful in solving the
problem that you have.

Have you just come here to bitch, then?. If so, that's cool, I'll
leave you to it.
Well, it could be that i'm using Office 2003, or it could be outlook express
i'm using for newsgroups.
It could be my sourcesafe server which is connected over the network, maybe
winamp, do you run winamp?
That's about it..
Dont get pissed :) I just have no idea.
This is a production machine, and it was configured the same when D7 used to
run fine, so I'd say we can rule out weird components, be it software or
hardware. The guys at borland should just open an above average project and
copy paste and follow some ctrl+clicks a lot and i'm almost certain this
will evolve into a crash. Dont ask me for reproducable steps, because that
would be "programming using the IDE". Really nothing fancy comes to mind.
Of course I know i'm repeating myself, and that its not helpful at all, but
it is simply what happens.
We're all just trying to do our work.
> We're all just trying to do our work.
Indeed.
I gave you the exact steps to reproduce the bugs.
In other words, me telling someone the IDE crashes (which was all I did) is
bitching?
Borland has found itself a new employee! You earned yourself a place in the
PR team.
> In other words, me telling someone the IDE crashes (which was all I

You've done far more than that, wouldn't you agree?
I've never doubted that your IDE crashes. I've merely been trying to
find out if there is any way to reproduce this problem so that it might
get fixed. For that I've received from you a lot of sarcastic abuse.
> Borland has found itself a new employee! You earned yourself a place

See what I mean?
With your patience you should be a monk or someting, I wish I had a bit
more.
Thanks.

You ask what I do to get that error, I answer.
Then you ask me what would be the difference between your system and
mine??? - are you for real?
If that wasnt meant to be sarcastic.. I dont know what to make of it..
Btw, though sarcastic, I described my platform almost exact.
If sarcasm gets to you, dont try working with customers, they have a special
thing with "value for money" which makes them say weird things when the
value doesnt weigh up to the money.
> You've done far more than that, wouldn't you agree?
It would be bitching if I didnt buy D2005, but since I did, i'm at least
entitled to respond in a non--borland-supported newsgroup.
Beter yet, thats all we are entitled to. (yes, sarcasm).
:)

Yes, of course. I'm wondering, because you get the error and I don't.
It's a common question to ask when that situation arises. Perhaps you
have some strange setup, or an unusual hardware configuation.
> If that wasnt meant to be sarcastic.. I dont know what to make of it..
It wasn't meant to be sarcastic, and I would guess that you could make
of it what it is: a question.

Oh, I can handle sarcasm just fine, believe me, witness that fact that
I'm answering this post.

And yes, as I said, if all you want to do is bitch, I won't get in your
way. If you'd like to solve the problem, I'll do what I can to help.

I'm gonna hang back for a couple of days and see how it's resolved.
Despite the current difficulties with 2005, I'm confident that once the bugs
are ironed out I've chosen the correct route for the next few years.
