Does anyone have any experience with a product called Direct Oracle Access
from a company called Allround Automations? I am interested in your
opinions regarding the quality of the product and support. Thanks in
advance for any info.

It's a great product and they have good support. We've used it on several
projects.

I've used Direct Oracle Access for over a year now on all my Oracle based
projects. It is a superb product and I wouldn't consider developing for an
oracle database using delphi with BDE now. DOA has been very reliable and I
have received updates on a regular basis.

I haven't used their support much but when I have I have received the answer
to the problem usually the same working day.

I thoroughly recommend DOA. If your not using it you're losing out.

Hope this helps.

Where can I find this product? Do they have a website?

Cheers,

You can find them at www.allroundautomations.nl. I found them through the
BDE Alternatives Guide at www.kylecordes.com/bag.

Thanks again to everyone for your input.

I currently use their version 3.22 on a project - i love it (no more
BDE install probs).
Also they do support the oracle 8 object relational features with
their pro version (also i would not recommend the use of these oracle
features).

Absolutely terrific product. If you are developing applications against
Oracle of any version, save your self a lot of grief and use these
components. Much faster than BDE. Better implementation of the OCI. Great
Product. Superb Tech support.

Hope this helps.

We've used DOA for a while. It is a very good product. I highly recomand it.
It has a lot of nice features such as getting instance sequence number, DOA
Stored Procedure component that eliminate putting many delphi store proc
components. The product is very solid and fast. With DOA you can deploy your
app without BDE. Good luck.
