I have encountered the same problem over and over, just cant figure out
whats wrong. What I have seen is that when you run your app without the
Delphi debugger, the errors dont occur.
PLEASE if anyone has light on this subject please let us know.
Cheers
Chris

I have a lot more information on this problem.
It applies to win98 installation of Delphi5 with ADO express (plus latest
patch of ADO express).
It applies to the append event of an ADOquery for any query with a lookup
field.
It can be detoured by switching the fklookup property to fkcalculated and
then back after the post.
edits and posts to the table do not cause a problem. This is a pain, and I
am only doing it for the
short term, until I get the problem resolved.
A program compiled under win98 which gives the error, will run under win2000
without the error.
A program compiled under win2000 will run under win98 without the error.
When I installed the Delphi patch 1 (which seemed to work fine) when I went
to add an ADO
componnet to a datamodule, I got an error.
Can anyone at Borland confirm that they can set-up a win98 machine, install
Delphi 5, ADO express
and connect to an SQL7 database using ADOqueries with lookup fields?

John

May be you can try to install Service Pack 1 for MDAC 2.5. It should hepl,
especially because your program works well under W2K, which already have
MDAC 2.5. http://www.microsoft.com/data/
