Error initialising BDE (error $220B)

I've got a simple database query program and whenever I try and run it
on a machine without Delphi installed I get the error "An error occurred
while attempting to initialise the Borland DB engine (error $220B)".
Does anyone know why? (do you need to include certain BDE files with a
program that uses databases?). (I'm new to Delphi so give me some slack
if it is a very obvious answer). Thanks.

Hi Robert
If your application uses data aware components, eg TTable, TQuery DBEdit
etc, you will need to also install the BDE on your clients PC.
InstallShield is supplied with Delphi to assist you in this task. This will
mean that your installation disks for your app will require 4 or more
floppy disks, even for the smallest of apps.
To be honest, I don't use the BDE unless I REALLY have to, I have purchased
a BDE replacement engine called FlashFiler from TurboPower. It is very
light, I can create an install disk set on 1 floppy (including the engine,
whcih can be compiled into the application .EXE!).

You need to install the BDE on the system that is going to run the program.
You can use the InstallShield Express program that ships with D2 and D3 to
build and installation disk set that will install both your program and the
BDE.
