You could use a utility such as http://www.bpsoftware.com/products/tbu.htm
or
http://www.borland.com/devsupport/bde/utilities.html#32Utility

It is best to rebuild the table with Tutiltiy or one of the other 3rd party
table repair components.

Download Tutility
http://www.Borland.com/devsupport/bde/files/tutil32d.zip

Other 3rd party table repair utilities.
DataSentry Data Maintenance Utility -- free, full
featured trial available for download at http://www.logicprocess.com.

"Out And About's" TUtility VCL components - a pretty smooth
interface to TUtil*.dll for budget bucks.
You'll find them at www.o2a.com

http://www.bpsoftware.com/products/tbu.htm, which is B&P
Table Utilities. The latest release of this product has been released, it
now includes the ability to save a tables structure to text file.

ChimneySweep from Sundial Services provides batched (scripted) table
repair/maintenance for the all the tables in a database does not use Tutility.

Remember this: if you get a corrupt-index message, there could be other
problems that you do not see. A table must ALWAYS be verified and
repaired before it is put back into service.

Would this be the best way to repair corrupted or out of date .mb files and
the 'Corrupt table/index header' error?

I have tried TUtilty on one such table: I can open the table now, but the
data in the table is complete garbage now. What am I doing wrong?

Yes

Tutility can not repair all types of corruption. Backups are still good
practice

Complete garbage after a repair could be the result of using wrong password.
A paradox password is an encryption key. TUtility has no idea of what the
correct password is, so it will happily encrypt whatever data with the key
you supply. Do I need to explain any further;-?

One of the classic bugs in TUTILITY, never fixed, is that if the table
does not have a password but you supply one, the data can be mangled
because TUTILITY "decrypts" the data in the file while moving it into
the output-table. There is no way to recover the information.

... which is precisely why ChimneySweep customers are urged to turn the
darned thing off and never use it in their jobs. :-/
