Hey all, hope someone can help.

I have D4 Pro, just developed a quick and dirty app using Paradox
database tables.
Std. Installshield express setup, partial Paradox setup. Didn't work.
BDE error 3e06.
Then, reading help in IS, says you MUST include one sql engine with
Paradox. OK. Re-do install. Redeploy. Same deal - BDE error 3e06.

D4 DG CD says this is lanuage driver problem. Check IS's list of
drivers, sure enough, looks like NO language drivers are picked up in
the BDE/API group.

<VENT>
Aaaaaaahhhhhh !!!!!
</VENT>

Ya see, my client lives 2000 km away and is starting to doubt my
ability. I've sent a full MSAccess setup 2x - no luck coz of the DAO,
etc "debacle". Now 3x Paradox DB installs, second two with a one table
app just for kicks. No luck.

Ok. 2 questions:
1. Has ANYONE installed D4 Pro. Written a db app. Used bundled IS to
deploy said app (partial install). And had it work first pop. My faith
needs serious healing here !
2. Any clues as to the solution for this 3e06 thingo ?

Your help appreciated muchly.

Thought: if we knew the files that were required for different D4 db app
configurations, it would be possible to write a simple app that checked
for the existence of the required files in the std. directories, yeah ?
Any way of getting an authoritative "required files for configs" list
from Borland or anyone ?

Thanks heaps,
Aaron

Whatever shipped with D4 Pro, I guess. BDE Admin says V 5.00 - is that
the same ?
How do you get an accurate fix on the BDE version ?

Thanks for the prompt reply.

Partial installs have a lot of problems. Always do a full BDE install

That error is can not load language driver.
My guess is your partial install is not installing one of BDE components
required

Your message is quite cryptic I don't understand a lot of it.

Do the full BDE install.
