Hi

Im trying to run the Database Desktop, I get the next error:

Directory is controlled by other .NET file

I did many things:

a) I erased the PDOX*.NET files (on my PC, on the server, etc)

b) I erased the PDOX*.LCK files (on my PC, on the server, etc)

c) I erased the ISAPI32.CFG

d) I reinstalled the BDE

e) etc, etc,

I was working ok but suddenly started to fail, when I have the error I erase
de pdoxusrs.net file and the problem is solved but I dont know what is
happening

Any idea ?

Thanks
Alejandro

Alejandro,

All computers using the tables must have thier net file directory set to the
same directory. You can set the NET DIR using the BDE administrator on the
configuration Tab / drivers/ native/ paradox. There is a paper on the
borland site with complete datials, someone will most likely post the url, I
don't have it handy.

My problem is that the PC was working Ok but suddenly, after 2 years, began
to fail, I havent installed or modified anything on the installation

I have set the NET DIR as usual, when I have had the same problem I have
solved it in 5 minutes but now I dont know what is happening

Hi,

Did you check you're registry entry on :

LOCAL MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ BORLAND \ DATABASE ENGINE
if it's points to the right location where to find the right BDE and
IDAPI32.CFG
Some settings are stored in the user.dat. which also can create these
problem. Deleting the user.dat can solve the problem.

greetings Peter

Try changing the private directory of database desktop, and clean out stale
.lck/.net files if present there, also, check the available disk space on
the drive where the private dir resides.
