I have set the DisplayFormat property of the TFloatfield to #,##0 and the
EditFormat to 0
However my DBgrid shows no ThousandSeparator for large numbers in this
TFloatField.
After removing the Editformat (making it blank) large numbers are displayed
correctly with a Decimalseparator.

I want my Editformat to differ from the DisplayFormat, so how do I solve
this?

kind regards

I tried these two settings on a Tfloatfield and don't see any problem.

Brian,

I used an OnDrawColumnCell event handler and used the Text property of the
Field. I should have used the DisplayText property.
It works fine now. My stupidity!
Thanks for replying.
