I am using D7.1 Oracle 9i

TClientDataset -> TProvider -> TSQLQuery

I know that the query is valid, and I know that there are 99214 records to
be fetched. The code works fine when the result set is much smaller. I
googled the issue but can find no responses to the problem. Can anyone
throw any light on what this error means please ?

TIA
H

Hi Hugh,

> Can anyone throw any light on what this error means please ?

I've had this error in the past when accidentally using an older version
of a MIDAS.DLL in an application that was compiled with a newer version
of Delphi. In other words: check the version of the MIDAS.DLL that your
app is using, to make sure it's the latest version (MIDAS.DLL is
downwards compatible with older versions, so can use the latest version
at all times)...

Thanks, Bob.

It looks like you have nailed it for me and saved me a long night !
I compiled in the Midaslib unit (and dbExpOra for good measure) and the
problem looks solved.

You're welcome - been there, done that, spent the night for you already
;-)

Yup, that was my workaround as well (the old MIDAS.DLL was deployed on a
web server, and I wasn't able to update it without intervention from the
ISP, so I also linked with MidasLib and then the problem went away).
