Why is the TSQLMonitor not present on the dbExpress pallete after a
installation of D6 ?
Looking in the soure its present in the SqlEpr.pas.

I find it a very usefull tool for debuging and im not shure if people our
aware of this "hidden" component.

Best regards,
Nico.

Hi There,
Do you have the prof. our the c/s. version.
In my case its the prof. version.
I used a regular install with no extra options installation.
On three machines its not on the pallete.

Best regards,
Nico.

Nico,

I also have D6/Professional, and it is not on the dbExpress palette here
either.

NOTE:
It is rather simple to put it there:
- Component/New Component
- Ancester Type = TSQLMonitor
- Palette Page = dbExpress

Hi There,

I also performed that "trick".
But i tought that it would be good to mention, beacause maybe a lot of users
are
not aware of its excistence.(it a good tool for debuging dbExpress)
I think it should also be fixed in a SP release.

Thanks,
Nico.

It's not meant to be included in Pro according to the feature matrix:

http://www.borland.com/delphi/del6/featurematrix/database.html

Refer to the section called "Integrated Database Development Tools –
Simplify client/server development".

Hi Dave,

According to the featurematrix i cant make up if it should be there or not.
But if this is so , i cant believe borland would leave it out the pallet but
provide the source.
This comp. is a must have when working with dbexpress.
Limiting access to rdbms's by not supplying the related drivers is oke with
me but this is
"not wise".
As a RAD tool you should give fast access to stuff you already supply.(the
sourcecode)

<GG>

Best regards,
Nico.

It's clear in the feature matrix that it should be in Enterprise only.

My guess is that it was a mistake.

As a comparison, the SQL monitor app that is provided with the BDE, is
available in the Enterprise edition only.

Apparently, Borland think it is a premium item. (I have no opinion on the
matter either way <g>).
