I use the QuickCam SDK from Logitech to connect to QuickCam that works
properly using the programs shipped with the cam. Trying to connect (method
PrepareControl) to the same cam from within my Delphi program, no camera is
found. I tried also the sample progrgams written in VD and C++ that are
delivered with the SDK with the same result.

Has anyone experience with the QuickCam SDK and can help me to connect to
the web cam?
Has someone a quick solution to remote control a QuickCam webcam to be able
to shoot pictures and reuse them in a delphi project (if possible without
using a temporary file).

I have the same difficulty. In the end I have used now a
different approach using directx. See for example http://www.sulaco.co.za/default.htm for a slightly different
example capturing a webcam in directx and modifying the
pictures using openGL. Newer directx example is also
available from webpages. I am making only slow progress with
my program, but could mail you sample code based on above.
