ECO and Visual Studio

Hi,

I purchased Delphi 2006 Architect mainly to get ECO III.

I also got ECOModeller III from ModelMaker tools.

Unfortunately the Delphi IDE suffers from a recurrent corruption which
results in me being unable to open or create any kind of proejct in any of
the "personalities"

The actual error is
Access Violation at address XXXXXX in module rtl100.bpl. Read of address
XXXXXX.
Closing this error is followed by:
Access Violation at address XXXXXX in module delphicoreide100.bpl. Read of
address XXXXXX
The error loops and Task Manager - End Task is the only escape!

I have already re-installed twice and can't get any support from Borland!!!

And so, to get to the point

Is it possible to use ECOModeller III CSharp edition and Visual Studio 2003
to develop ECO III applications?

Hi Andy

I am using BDS2006 with C# and ECOIII without any issue. Have you
installed Update 1?

One of my developers also has VS on his machine and can operate between
the two without issue. So it is possible to operate both. I don't know
about using ECOModeller with VS to develop ECO though.

If you have not done so already ask about your issues in
borland.public.delphi.non-technical, it may seem an odd place but lots
of helpful folk lurk there - amongst others...

I was using ECO II with VS 2003

As Jan mentioned, ECO design time support is missing - I had to do it in
Delphi 2005
Everything else is obviously fine.

It would be very nice to get ECO design-time in VS 2003

But I don't think MDA team has any plans to support VS 2003
;-(

Hi Slava,

I got my BDS 2006 working - ( don't ask me how, but I cleaned the
registry, re-installed a number of times etc)

I had code written in .NET 2.0 so developing in BDS 2005 and VS 2005.

I am using ECOModeler so don't have to worry about the Together support.

I have not done any forms design yet.

Yes - design time support in VS would be good - but I guess it's a policy
decision not to until such time as ECO separated from BDS and sold as VS
components.
