We have a dozen old projects built in Borland C++ Builder 5. They work, but
we anticipate needing to perform some tweaks to them over the next few
months. All of the development has been done on one laptop, and that laptop
is about to give up the ghost.

We don't have the install disks for version 5, and it sounds like converting
the projects to a modern version is probably not going to work seemlessly.
How can we eaily move development to a new machine? The projects make use
of many 3rd party components, which I'm guessing will be a substantial
issue -- am I correct in that?

One option would be to clone the laptop (while it still has life) into a
VMWare virtual machine (VMWare Server and VMWare Convertor are both free)
that you can run on another PC/laptop until you are ready to migrate the
projects to newer tools.
