hello to everybody.

i have problem with the c++builder 3.0 standard. i hope that somebody
helps me.

i created an exe-file and wanted to run it on a machine where the
builder is not installed. i got an error-message which said, that a file
named "vcl35.bpl" is neccessary to run the programm. i switched the
radiobutton in "projects->options->packages->"Mit Laufzeit Packages
Compilieren ( compile with runtime packages)" but it does'nt help.

if somebody knows how to help, please reply.

Did you do a re build afterwards - a make is not enough..

yes i did a rebuild after the switch. in fact the builder did it by
itself. do you have another idea?

Kay,

Under project | Options | Linker uncheck the USE RUNTIME LIBRARIES.

Your other choice is to simply put VCL35.BPL on the machine where your
program is installed.

As strange as it may sound, vcl35.bpl is a "run-time package." In order to
avoid distributing it (and a few of its friends), you need to uncheck the
"Build with run-time packages" item on the Packages sheet of the Project
Options dialog. Whew! You will also want to uncheck the "Use dynamic RTL"
item on the Linker sheet. Now do a Build of your project and your .exe
should swell up nicely (about 240K or so) and you have the standalone
application you wanted.
