Thanks,

I am surprised by this error code - are you sure of it ? Maybe
what you are reporting is the error class, and the actual error
code is displayed elsewhere (hopefully).
Maybe the available shared memory is not sufficient for this
computer - try to increase SharedMemSize in your Bde
configuration, set it to 4096.It's a complete shot in the dark,
though. If it does not give better results, reset it its previous
value.

The error code is more likely BDE Error 210D "SHARED MEMORY CONFLICT"
That is. DBIERR_SHAREDMEMCONFLICT (Word)(8461)
It may be necessary to modify the BDE setting SHAREDMEMLOCATION found
on the SYSTEM | INIT page of the BDE Administrator.
Valid SHAREDMEMLOCATION values range from 1000 to 7F00 (additional
details can be found below and in the BDEADMIN.HLP file)

If it's really $2100, you should call Borland then :-/
And/Or try Mike's fix.

Well, I'll be dipped! I had to blow up the font size, but you are absolutely
correct. It IS $210D. There sure wasn't much difference between a zero and a
"D"! I will try your solution. Thanks for pointing out my eyesight failure!

It got me once also<g> .. I think an eyewear enhancement is needed in my
case.
Just to let you know, setting the SharedMemLocation to 7bde seemed to fix
the problem - Thanks for your help.
Since I am ALREADY wearing an eyesight enhancement option, I guess I will
just have to invest in a Braille monitor!
Thanks, again
