I read an article that all of the Borland C++ Builder X developers, 8 to be
exact, have been reassigned to work on the Eclipse IDE and C++ integration.
Thus, it seems that C++ Builder X is desupported. I know the developer
field trial ended over 6 months ago.... I didn't even get a promised copy of
that release.

Can anyone from Borland comment???

Otherwise on November 1, 2005 I will move my entire development staff off of
ALL Borland tools. For example: I will move to java development to Oracle's
JDeveloper and will move C and C++ development to the Eclise CDT.

It is the lack of communication regarding C++ Builder X and not having an
update to C++ Builder 6 in three years that has left me irate. I did notice
that finally Builder 2006 is coming out... too little, too late, and only
supports windows.

Where did you hear that? If it's true, I find it quite encouraging to
find Borland working on integration of C++ into Eclipse. I always
thought that CDT left something to be desired and some Borland help
would be great IMO.

Well, it clearly is not the focus of their efforts right now.

You actually find Eclipse more suitable for C++ development than for
Java?

moving to Oracle JDeveloper does nothing for you -- it is just a
rebranded Borland product.
