My client is having difficulty with the BES logs. When the logs are set to
XML, things are fine but of course they are a little harder to read. When
the logs are set to text, they don't seem to be generated at all. Is this a
known issue? Has anyone seen this?

We prefer to read logs in a text format and usually do it directly looking
at being generated files
(for example,
$BES_ROOT/var/domains/base/configurations/$MY_CFG_NAME/mos/standard/adm/logs/partition_log.txt)
at being generated files
(for example,
$BES_ROOT/var/domains/base/configurations/$MY_CFG_NAME/mos/standard/adm/logs/partition_log.txt)
Also there're some Log4j viewers for reading XML-formatted logs.
At my experience a using of a bes management console is an inconvenient way
to read logs because it's a bit buggy and requires a lot of net traffic.
