First, excuse me for my English
I developp a Program under Borland C++ buider 6. And I want to create a Setup with the InstallShield. But I need ( for my application) the BDE. The problem is that I can't configure this mudule because I don't see the BDE.

I see in "Object/Merges Module" Access97, Access200 , ATL Module for windows .. an a lot of others .... but not a BDE module. It's that normal ?

The help of installShield say :
"If you are including the Access 97, Access 2000, or BDE merge module in your setup, right-click on the object in the Objects/Merge Modules view and select Configure to customize this module to fit your needs"

But I can't Including BDE Merge module... it is not in the list of Merges module...

Have you a answer for Me?

Thanks you for your help

Hello Mathieu

As Borland support Engineer, I cannot answer your question directly
(this is part of the paid support) but have a look to your
configuration, and after changes, try to un-install install shield (
registry keys included) and re-install it after being sure that you
use the bde 5.0.2 in your path.

This will normally enabled the bde merge module into your
Installshield.
If the problem remians, please call the support.

Thank you,

Bonne Année

PAul

hello Carol (excuse me for my english)

I have teh save problem an it's normal.
You can donwload all version of bde merge module and you have already the
same problem.
For use the bde Merge module with the installshieldExpress you must :
1) go in add/suppression of program panel
2) clic of modify (installshield Express)
3) choose BDE ( pro or entreprise ) and install it
4) Enjoy you can use the bde in installshield express

I tried your suggestion as I too had the same problem, but the installer
says Cannot find valid installation of Delphi or Builder , setup cannot
continue...

I DO have BCB Pro 6 installed, I know that as I use it every day...

How do I fix that, do you know?

thanks,

Lynn Morrison

Yes, I can see all of the BDE merge module that came in my Builder Pro 6,
but I am trying to put in the merge module/BDE from Borlands site, version
5.2

I am under the impression that because IS cannot find a valid merge module,
that I have to upgrade? I am thinking this because even though I get the
merge module listed in ISE , I cannot 'change object properties' even though
the module is there. So when I try to install the new one, no go...

Do I make sense? ;)

Thanks, Lynn Morrison
