All:

Some computers in Canada get error '3E06: Cannot load language driver.'
when attempting to write. I have not found any documentation on exactly
what that error means and what to do about it. Is there some documentation
on how to correct this problem?

Using Delphi 4 and BDE 5.0.1.22.

Richard,

As no one is rushing to chuck you a lifeline I looked up your error in
"Developer's Guide to Delphi Troubleshooting" by Clay Shannon. Here is
his advice.

A) Check the registry setting points to the correct language driver.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Borland\Database
Engine\Settings\System\INIT\LANGDRIVER points to DBWINUSO (This is for
the USA/UK. If your machine is French speaking this may be different.)

B) Check language drive is present at \Program files\Borland\Common
Files\BDE. For the USA the file is USA.BLL. (What it is for other
languages is not stated.)

HTH,

Bob

Thank you for the info. The locations with the problem point to the
language 'ASCII' and there is no ASCII.BTL file. I'll have to figure out
where to get that file or just change them to USA and see what happens.
