Short Term Mission Trip To Mexico City  !!

The AIM class just returned from a mission trip to Mexico City. While we were there we did many service projects around the city and the neighboring city of Cuernavaca. We painted an orphanage, we painted several church buildings.  In Cuernavaca the class split up into groups, some of us handed out pamphlets letting people know about the church there.  Some of the others went to an orphanage and played with the kids there had an awesome time!

I went with a group of people and was taken to a church building in the middle of town to paint their 2 rooms. Also one of the main services we did was hand out bibles as we walked around town.

SERVE. LOVE.IMPACT.

My favorite service in Mexico was handing out Bibles. Going up to someone and knowing the gift you are handing them is the most important gift on the earth! Seeing peoples’ reactions to receiving a bible was amazing!! They would smile and thank you over and over and over. Some of my classmates were walking down the street handing out bibles, and while they were doing that people from across the street on buses were running towards them yelling, asking for a bible. Some of the time it was really cool to see that the person you just handed a bible to, would open it up and start reading right then. To hand out a bible is a good thing but is it enough? I remember one man in particular who was crippled. He was an elderly man sitting in a wheelchair. His little legs were held up with 2 rags, and he was selling things on the street. I saw his face when my classmate handed him a bible. His eyes lit up so bright, he had the biggest smile I’d ever seen, only a few teeth to show but he didn’t mind showing them. I imagined the hope the bible could give him. That wasn’t enough for me. I would have liked to share the good news about Jesus Christ dying and raising up again! I didn’t have a lot of time to sit and talk so I had to leave. The joy the good news brings is like nothing else on the planet. I want to go and be God’s instrument to share that good news all over the world if that is what the Lord has planned for me.  This school has challenged me in so many ways to grow closer to God, and I know I couldn’t have done it without your support and prayers. Thank you so much for being partners with me in the cause for the gospel.

Please join me in prayer for the following........

Prayer List

             My AIM class

             Sunset area church

             The AIMers on the field

             Cherish Lubbock time

             Team Bolivia

             My family

             That I touch people’s lives

             Evangelism

I need to raise support for my flight and schooling on the field. The total amount I need to raise is $4000.  This is the hardest part of being the mission field but I do need your prayers and support.

If you could please pray for all these things I would really appreciate it.

COMMUNITY SERVICE

INTENSE. ALIVE.FUN. PEACE.

Community Service is something that Kris and Pat encourage for each team to do, and each team gets to select and find out what they want to do. Team Bolivia decided to volunteer at a wild life rehabilitation center. It is the coolest volunteer work you can find!   They have eagles, owls, hawks, vultures, possums, a bobcat, and a grey fox named Gracie. What we do most of the time we are there is clean out the bird’s mess. which is the scientific name for their big cage.  We volunteer every Tuesday for 2 and a half hours each time. We do whatever  they need us to do.

Thank you so much for everything that you are doing for me! I have no doubt in my mind that this is exactly where God wants me to be and it is exciting! Thank you for helping make my dream of being a Kingdom Worker come to life.      Please write me letters of encouragement or shoot me an email if you have any prayer requests. Ill be praying for you!
