Form elements are disabled when collapsed on iPhone

I have a site where the form works great on my desktop, but the 2 elements (a JQuery date picker widget and a pulldown menu) are disabled when I look at the site on my iPhone.

Does anyone know of this issue and how to fix it? I've tried adding this

$(".main").prop( "disabled", false );

but it didn't fix it.

Any help is most appreciated.
