Typing date value instead of selecting it.

By default the date format is dd/mm/yyyy.

But if you type a date, lets say "01/02/2016", you don't get the 1st February, but the 2nd of January. The format it uses seems to be mm/dd/yyyy.

Surely this is not expected behaviour? And if so, how would one change it to adhere to the format set?

Found the setting, its format and not dateFormat. I was only using dateFormat.
