After months of engineering and design, we are excited to unveil the new BootstrapWorld.org, and give you a sneak peek at the new WeScheme.org!
Our website has gotten a fresh coat of paint, and some of the content has been reorganized to highlight the strengths of the community and put a spotlight on our supporters. The site should also perform a lot better on small browser windows, so those of you who pull up lesson plans on a phone or tablet will have a lot to smile about.
WeScheme is getting a very significant update:
- Experimental support for text selection and copy/paste on tablets! Tablets are still officially unsupported, so please don't expect everything to work at this time. However, for those of you who have no other option, WeScheme is now far, far more usable on iPads.
- The editor is now split vertically, rather than horizontally. This change makes far better use of screen real-estate, especially on iPads and Android tablets.
- Undo/Redo buttons have now been added to the secondary toolbar, for students who may be unfamiliar with Ctrl-Z/Ctrl-Y. This also makes those commands accessible on tablets, which lack a keyboard.
- More than two dozen fixes to WeScheme's display on small browser windows, especially on tablets.
- New visual theme to accompany the website.
WeScheme will officially switch over to the new theme on the morning of July 10th. Please test out the new theme before then, and make sure it works well in your environment. If you find a **BUG** (meaning something that works in WeScheme.org but not in the new site), please reply to this thread.
Many thanks to those of you who've given us your feedback over the last few months. We're thrilled with the new look, and the new features we've added to make better use of the devices in your classroom. And we're not done: stay tuned for more big announcements later this year!
Sincerely,
The Bootstrap Team
