Hi everyone,

We hope you've had a great start to 2021.

If you're wondering what's the latest with Boots'n'all, after an interesting 2020 with a number of covid related event cancellations, the organisers have met up and aligned we would like to continue BnA and recognise the unique role and ministry it plays in Christian focussed outdoor events around NZ :)

We're reminded of our Vision:

-Its for everyone. Our main goal is to introduce more and more people to the outdoors in a number of mainly entry-level settings. There are also a few challenging events for the more experienced.

-Its a community. We aim to build friendships through regular contact with each other (rather than being a bunch of strangers) with activities at least once a month.

-Its about beauty. We are people of faith and see our activities as a great chance to share and enjoy the gift of the creator with others.

However as times change and the core demographic of our group matures, the format of a few organisers organising needs to change.

Going forward we are proposing a more 'open source' organiser model to share the opportunity of organising events (and hopefully in the process enabling more events to take place.) So we are looking for people who feel called to offer to organise an event to get in touch. Please note the use of the word 'organiser' not host or leader - organisers provide the space and opportunity for an event to take place, but attendees need to take personal responsibility that the event is a success (sorting pre event admin, turning up on time with appropriate gear/fitness alongside a great attitude seeking to help everyone have a fantastic time.)

What the 'open source' organiser model essentially looks like is anyone proposing an event and then the lead organisers reviewing, giving feedback and suggesting adjustments where relevant based on learnings from previous events before sending out the event invite to our unique member base. We also plan to have a regular zoom meeting if you want to come along and discuss/brainstorm your proposed event together.

If you're wondering about event ideas, we have lots of those as last year we did a survey and the events members had the most interest in were as below. But if you have an event you're personally passionate about, go for it!

Day events:

* Day walk

* Mountain or urban biking

* Stand up paddle boarding

* Photo scavenger hunt

Multi-day events:

* Waikaremoana Great walk

* Pinnacles overnighter

* Taupo/Rotorua mountain biking/ hiking/ hot pools

* Off the beaten track multi-day walks (more 'intermediate' level)

The events we're personally looking to organise in 2021 are:

* Timber trail bike ride

* Rotorua weekend

* New Years trip

So if you have interest in leading an event anytime in 2021, we look forward to hearing from you!

We look forward to seeing you out there in the great outdoors!

Kylee, Anna, Steve, & Reuben
