Hello,
Time for a get together now its safe to do so! (well as safe as is likely to be for the foreseeable future).

Please use the common Covid guidelines ie if not feeling well please stay home, etc. If more than 10 people are confirmed I'll make a QR code for the event.

This is a great family-friendly walk or ride along the water's edge and through parks. The route loops around the beautiful Ōrewa estuary, exploring the natural and historical significance of the area.

The wide path is undulating and sealed, so it is suitable for all fitness levels. It's an excellent ride for people new to cycling, or riding with children on bikes or scooters. It is shared between walkers and bikers, please be considerate of other users.

I'll be cycling with my family, you're welcome to join me. If you don't have a bike you're welcome to walk too. (please let me know your preference so I get an idea of who is keen for what – email users, facebook users please comment on the event page)

Distance - approx 8 km
Bike time - approx 40-60 mins
Walk time - approx 90-120 mins

Where:
We will meet at the Millwater hockey turf carpark at 9 am aiming to leave at 9:15 am. We'll go clockwise around the estuary if you need to catch up!!

There are public toilets here and also approximately half way round (near the Ōrewa bridge).

If you'd like to carpool please organise this amongst yourselves.

Bring:
Snacks / drink (there is a water fountain approx 1/2 way round)
Suitable clothing (shoes, hat, jacket etc)
Sunscreen
Helmet if riding

The hockey turf is opposite the Millwater shops. There is good coffee and nice food if you want to socialise afterwards.
