Hello all.  Amanda has generously offered to organise a walk for us!! Here is the info : )

“It’s definitely time for a jaunt!
Please join me on Saturday June 12th at 10.00am at Hamlins Hill (Mutukaroa) Regional Park.
We’ll meet in the car park at 10.00.
It’s only a quick moment off the motorway- where expansive 360 degree views of Auckland City can be had, while 7 aalso exploring the native bush and walking through grassland farmed with curious cattle. Niicceee!!!

It’s a 60-90 minute walk on a grass and gravel track that’s also suitable for off-road buggies.  There’s a picnic table and reportedly also a portaloo (you may want to utilise some facilities before you come along….. just in case :-)
Dogs are permitted on a lead.

GoogleMaps: 1014 Great South Road, Penrose.
Access the car park from Great South Road between the Onehunga and Mt Wellington off ramps.

Please bring: the usual sturdy shoes and clothes for all weathers, water, and a packed lunch if you’d like to sit and enjoy the view again after the walk.  Then if you’re still keen to hang out- it’s coffeeeeee time at Sylvia Park!

(If you can’t come walking, please feel free to join in for coffee afterwards- cafe decided on the day- but will be at Sylvia Park)

Hope to see you there!

Any queries on the day- text me on 02041924654
(I can't access voice mails- text is best)

Cheers

Amanda

Update from Amanda re tomorrow's walk:

Well, the weather looks interesting for tomorrow's walk!
So we'll need to follow rule number 5 :-)
The walk will go ahead as planned at this stage; it looks like there'll be more rain in the afternoon than the morning, so if we get a good timely start we'll likely be free of getting drenched!
If, when we meet, it's actually atrocious, I have an (indoor) Plan B.
It look s to be working up to about 18 degrees so you won't be cold, especially when walking: but do bring your wet weather gear!
Let's go make some memories!
