Yesthat may be true, but seeing as though I'm not a real, qualified pilot and I use a simulator program on a PC and not a full motion simulator, I might as well benefit from some of the extra tools that are available.

I don't think descent rate is a redundant number given you cant feel a landing in the PC sim. Its more based on visual cues inside the vc and the outside environment. Having an extra tool can be useful I think especially if you switch between different aircraft with different handling properties and flight/lift characteristics. If you don't see the need for one, then good for you.

It sounds to me like your definition of a successful landing is not blowing the tires and collapsing the landing gear struts. So in that case I guess you do get feedback in the sim. No, I have never done that myself, either in real life or in sim. My standards are significantly more discerning.

After being inspired by a YouTube video by Chewwy on XP11, I decided to make this feature request. I think it would be pretty cool to have a landing rate monitor that measures the heaviness of your landing (FPM). It could look something like this that pops up just as you touch down:

I recently made a post regarding something similar to this. The post, had to do with the absence of real time Vertical Speed readings on replay mode, this helped many people measure their landings and it is now absent for it just displays one or two numbers. I would vote for this request but the developers told me that they will work on the issue to fix the Vertical Speed problem meaning that this would be this feature would be rather unnecessary. The feature may be insignificant in solo but this would be an EXCELLENT feature on live as we do not have any way of reading our Vertical Speed except for looking at the Vertical Speed indicator last second, this would be fatal as it would distract us from greasing the plane in front of all the jealous players.

Open an account, you get your landing FPM monitor in-game. Apart from that, you also get live flight tracking, online logbook that works flawlessly instead of the bugged MSFS log, flight path and performance analysis, mapping, simbrief integration, EFB on a separate device etc.

And is free

Can anyone help. With the landing rate it show the fpm and the g force i land at. But i dint get the little map of where i touched down anymore. Its just blank. Ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling the flow wheel. But still the same. Any ideas. Xbox x

One of the issues we had is that people watching the stream were interested in knowing the landing rates, but the commonly used xgs landing rate plugin had a significant drawback: The font was too small and hard to read by stream viewers.

PLEASE NOTE: This *requires* the appropriate FlyWithLua NG plugin for your version of X-Plane. Please consult the HOW TO INSTALL.txt file, and replace any old versions of the LandingRate you might have.

It's a good display to start with. Just don't get too used to having your landings determined by fpm all the time... which means don't always try to chase that landing whether for you, for your flight tracker software (like ProjectFly), or for your ACARS (vAMSYS etc.)

Feature idea : I'd love to see it taking into account the distance to the centerline too, but it's already worth the 5 stars as-is And since you're in the streaming community, it might be worth having a chat with totoritko (author of a TBM900 and a RAAS system) about that idea, I think he has a lib which could help.

One thing though I really hope will be possible going forward (if it's not really there only I didn't realize it) is to have the information saved to a log/text file for review after the flight. I did find it a bit intrusive to have this window popping up right in my face after touchdown. I guess it feel more intrusive in VR compared to running on a 2D sceen.

Another thing that would be really nice is if you could choose to have the window pop up somewhere to the right (like over the FO's seat) when flying in VR. Then you don't get it right in your face and can look right when you like to have a look.

Overall though, seems to be a very well written and cool lua script and it comes highly recommended! Once you're able to re-position the popup window in VR and/or have your landing rate data written to a log file somewhere to check after the flight, I'll check the 5'th star ?

MSFS 2020 is awesome, but it still cannot kick you in the butt and push you to the side upon landing to describe how your landing was. Gees tries to fill in that gap, providing all the details about your landing skills.

Although developed by the same author, this is a completely separate app from the original, free, and open-source Gees app ( ). It's much more streamlined, in-game app, and comes with more features. When reporting bugs and requests, please specify which app you are referring to.

You spend valuable time and resources to create compelling and relevant emails or social posts that expertly target to your audience. Your contacts see your message and eagerly click on your call to action. Now what?

Most marketers understand that a great email or social campaign is only one piece of the puzzle to generating and nurturing leads. Read on to understand why landing pages are needed in your marketing efforts and find out what landing page conversion rate you should be aiming for in your campaigns.

Without landing pages, your email marketing campaigns will fall flat. If you think of your marketing efforts like fishing, your email content is like your bait. If you just throw it out there, your fish will simply take it and swim away. You need something that goes along with the bait to hook your contacts and reel them in.

Your landing page conversion rate shows you the number of people who completed your call to action out of everyone who landed on your page. Keep in mind that this statistic can be influenced by a few factors, including your industry, where your contacts are in their customer journey, and the relevancy of the call to action.

Marketing email campaigns should not go live without appropriate landing pages as part of the strategy. Your landing pages should directly support your emails and continue the conversation where your emails left off.

Now that you understand why you need landing pages and what type of conversions you should expect in your digital marketing campaigns, you can better optimize your strategies for improved performance. From here, you should notice your overall email campaign metrics improving, so you can focus on optimizing other aspects of your strategies.

This program's main purpose is to provide landing performance information. It polls FSX every 100 milliseconds and if it detects that the aircraft has landed a number of flight characteristics are displayed in the FS Landing Info screen. By Steven White.

I have wanted a program to check my landings for some time and while there are a few program around that do it they only provide basic information. I had a skeleton SimConnect program laying around from a little tool I wrote to randomly create failures so I converted that the FS Landing Info.

The software and source code it provided "as-is" and if you use any of it you do so at your own risk. As the source code is trivial the source code is released without restriction EXCEPT copies of this program and source code must remain freeware.

Landings Panel - This panel is updated each time the aircraft lands so if you land five times there will be five landing summaries. If you bounce down the runway there may be more than one landing summary for that landing.

When the Show in Sim check-box is checked then a landing summary will also be provided in the simulator window at the top of the screen. The Show For number represents the number of seconds that the landing summary will be displayed.

Normally, if the plane's gross weight is under the landing maximums for it, then for a normal, field landing, like for a commercial liner, -300 to -500 FPM is correct. As long as you are following the glideslope properly, you will hit at the right descent rate.

Speaking of "firm" landings, here's an excerpt from the book "Beyond the Blue Horizon" by Alexander Frater when he was flying as a passenger in an Airbus in the 1980's and was invited to sit in the cockpit for the night landing at Cairo under the control of the co-pilot..

There is a rumor, unconfirmed, naturally, that the Navy/MC pilots, from their first flight, have it beaten into their heads that if they flare on landing, they will be courtmartialed...and severely beaten with a mackerel, then keel-hauled.

I DO recall, very clearly, that my flight instructor in gliders, back in '74, one Goldie by name, could easily reach the back of my head from his rear seat with his yard-stick. I am really glad I was so young, so I healed pretty quick...

I actually got pretty good with landing gliders. I could float those things down the runway to where I didn't have to push it very far, if at all, often just turn it around in it's parking space for the next flight. I was pretty proud of that ONE little trick...

No flaring on the boat especially :) 7-800 FPM sink till the wheels bang the deck, and full throttle as soon as they do. In case your hook skips (otherwise called a bolter). Soon as you leave the deck, put the waterline on the 10 line and no turns until you have a positive rate of climb. Turn to the BRC until you get to the pattern altitude, usually 800' AGL, go around and try again.

Did you ever fly in a UAL plane? Those were my father's second favorite bird :D His first love was the DC-8-62. He usually tried to grease em in, unless he was in a hurry, then his Navy time kinda came out a bit. Of course that was mostly time in the SNJ, but hey...
