K-leveled books

[Chad Counts]

Greetings, 

I was able to request Fountas & Pinnel K-leveled books via Bookshare, however they do not contain images. For example, here is the text:

I see the sign. 

I see the bus.

I see the driver.

I see the children.

Fluent predictable texts..... but at this level, students need to understand concepts of print-left to right, top to bottom, PICTURE Clues, etc.......

Since there are almost no leveled texts on this level available, what are copyright laws regarding scanning them myself and using a text reader?

If that is against the law, could I type these out via google slides and insert my own picture without breaking copyright laws? 

I know, I know I've asked this question repeatedly, but any advice is appreciated.
