I have a question about using Web reader on the chrome book -today, it would not work.
I have no idea why.
We logged on to the chrome book using the child’s logon information, searched for the book found it, but it did not have the Web reader option anywhere to be found. Any ideas? Thank you ,

You might try modifying the page settings, you can change from scrolling to
facing pages, which at least may help from going to the end of the book in
terms of using a swipe across on the touch ...more

Hi Kathy. Assuming the student logged in to Bookshare with his/her login that you assigned – i.e. a login to your organizational account (rather than logging in to his/her full individual membership), were you attempting to open a book that you had previously shared with that student on a Reading List? If you just search for a book, but you have not yet shared that book with that student, it will not show the “Read Now” option.

This article might be helpful:

https://www.bookshare.org/cms/help-center/how-do-i-assign-books-members-so-they-can-read-them-their-own

If you have followed those instructions already, and your student is still not getting the “Read Now” button, then something else is going on. Bookshare Web Reader seems to be working fine for me.

And not all books can be open in BWR, though they are few. I has something to do with the format of the book that can’t transition to BWR.

Send book title and we’ll check it!

I am just seeing this but does the student have an IEP or 504 - could be a NIMAC book and if they have a 504 it will not be available
