Right now BoofCV generates Java 8 byte code. This is a bit annoying and requires a few hacks to get it to work and use Java 14 syntax. The main driver for targeting Java 8 was Android. It sounds like you can now use Java 11 libraries in Android so BoofCV could be updated. This change would occur at the earliest at the end of this year. If this would cause problems now is the time to let it be known!

Cheers,

Java 11 is only supported from Android Studio Artic Fox / Android Gradle Plugin 7.x ?
https://developer.android.com/studio/preview/features => it is still in alpha, but I guess this version will be released before the end of the year :)
