3d point clouds stitching

Hi,

I've just discovered your framework, and it's indeed spectacular! I see there is a feature for the image stitching. Is it also possible to do the 3d point clouds stitching? If not, is there a plan to add such a feature?

Kinda.  There is active development on visual odometry for RGB-D sensors, which effectively stitches point clouds.  A few years ago I was working on another library which was never cleaned up that had basic point cloud stitching in it using ICP.   Basically there's no plan to add it but it could happen if the need arises for some project.

thanks for the reply. Is there a way besides cloud stitching, to do a dense reconstruction, where we would minimize the amount of missing points, i.e. somehow include photos from different angles?

yes, but the current code is a bit medocre.

The issue is that it lacks sparse bundle adjustment.  That's actively being worked on but a few things are needed first before it can be added.
