C2P Partners:

The next C2P Working Group Meeting will be held Tuesday, July 15th from 9:00am-12:00pm at the Bronx Library Center (310 East Kingsbridge Road [at Briggs Avenue], Bronx, NY 10458). For Directions: http://www.nypl.org/branch/local/bx/fdc.cfm)

This will be a special meeting of C2P. We encourage you and your executive director to attend this important working group meeting to learn further information about an historic public health campaign that is taking place in the Bronx and how your organization can play an important role!

This past Friday, National HIV Testing Day, The New York City Department of Health officially launched its Bronx-wide HIV testing initiative called The Bronx Knows. The campaign has received a lot of media attention lately, including this article in the New York Times last Thursday:

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/06/26/nyregion/26hiv.html?ex=1215057600&en=ac2932ad0e7546b7&ei=5070&emc=eta1

The Bronx Knows draws strength from what we in C2P already know about the Bronx: it has an outstanding spirit of collaboration and community problem solving.  The DOH, Adolescent AIDS Program and other community partners are working hard to build a strong network of hospitals, community clinics and CBOs/FBOs that are working together to increase opportunities for every Bronx resident to learn their HIV status. As a leading CBO, we hope you will attend this meeting so that we can discuss any questions you might have and strategize how our coalition can most effectively participate in the campaign. One of the exercises we will do in the meeting is map out our respective service areas—both geographically and in terms of the scope of HIV testing and support services we provide to different patient and community populations. As usual, we will provide breakfast and lunch at the meeting.

Please RSVP by July 9th to confirm your attendance.

Thanks and have a great holiday weekend!

Bianca and Michelle
