I have automated this setup :-). It extracts the dosbox, adds the screensaver to win directory. Runs a powershell which sets the screensaversettings in the registry. The only thing you have to do is select the screensave "Johnny castaway" in your windows.
The screensaver depicts a man, Johnny Castaway, stranded on a very small island with a single palm tree. It follows a story which is slowly revealed through time. While Johnny fishes, builds sand castles, and jogs on a regular basis, other events are seen less frequently, such as a mermaid or Lilliputian pirates coming to the island, or a seagull swooping down to steal his shorts while he is bathing. Much like the castaways of Gilligan's Island, Johnny repeatedly comes close to being rescued, but ultimately remains on the island as a result of various unfortunate accidents.[6]
Johnny is a castaway on a small desert island he keeps himself entertained with numerous hobbies including sleeping reading fishing lighting a fire and building a raft.In the Johnny Castaway Screensaver many of these activities have variations: when fishing Johnny often catches a fish an octopus and a boot occasionally he's carried out to sea by a shark. When sleeping he's occasionally tied up by pirates. This screensaver has enough variations to provide a source of endless fascination for computer users.
The first few chapters of the book give you an idea of how well the author has researched the subject. I especially liked how the author portrays the different types of people Johnny comes across in this fantastic novel, and how they are as diverse as America. The last few chapters of the book take you into the actual adventures Johnny gets involved in and are also written quite well. Overall, Johnny castaway screensaver is an excellent novel that will keep you reading till the very end.
Every time you take a break, Johnny and his cast launch into hundreds of hilarious situations. Will Johnny score with the tantalizing mermaid? Can our desert island hero dodge the jaws of a castaway-eating shark? Will that passing party boat toss Johnny a line or a Lite?
This is one of the most entertaining screensavers I've come across. Watch a castaway Johnny perform amusing antics while he struggles for daily survival on a tiny island. The program has numerous scripts that are randomized every time, and special skits for special days such as Christmas and New Year's Eve. Watching Johnny is always fun, interesting, and definitely more fun than playing an average game :) Sometime in 1995, Sierra released the program as freeware, to cheers of Johnny's fans worldwide :)
