Camera Link / Basler acA2040-180km / Runtime Exception error

Hi folks,

Has anyone got any success using Camera Link cameras with Bonsai? 

I've got Basler acA2040-180km with Teledyne XCelera framegrabber and manage to use it with its own software (Teledyne Dalsa CamExpert+pylon viewer). I downgraded pylon to v5.1 and generated camera config file I can load to the PylonCapture extension.

When running the PylonCapture source with the config file and the serial number I get the following error : "The attached device does not support grabbing. : RuntimeException thrown (file 'instantcameraimpl.h , line 745)".

Any ideas of how to make it work? Or is it totally unsupported at the moment?

Hi Rad,

It is possible to write a custom package to interface with camera link cameras in Bonsai. We built a setup to acquire video from a Sentech camera link camera connected to a Euresys frame grabber board. You may want to check out the source code for the package here: https://github.com/ncguilbeault/Bonsai.EuresysCameraLink.
