Experience limitless customization with exclusive button mapping options in the Xbox accessories app. Save up to 3 custom profiles and 1 default profile on the controller and switch between them on the fly with the Profile button.

Is there a way to use a Xbox 360 controller with KSP? If not what other joystick or controller can i use with the game. It is really hard to control the ships with my keyboard tbh. And to a guy who hasn't even landed on the Mun yet, it would be extremely useful.

Also, if you didn't know it: to make the keyboard controls easier and much more precise, hit Precision Controls (default Caps Lock). The pitch/roll/yaw indicators will turn from orange to blue, and you will notice how the controls are much smoother.

I use the Xbox controller, you can map the axis in the control menu. I use left thumbstick for pitch and yaw, right stick for roll and RCS forward and backwards, and the D-pad for RCS translation control. The trigger's don't map correctly, so you can't bind them to roll the ship.

If you're referring to how to hook up the 360 controller, it connects to your normal USB port on any laptop or computer (if its been constructed since about 2000 for 2.0). It should auto-install the driver since its a microsoft device if you are on a windows box.

It should be noted, however, that this only works for cabled controllers. If you have a wireless controller with a play-and-charge kit, this won't work. The play-and-charge kit only carries the power for the controller; the actual transmission of data is still done wirelessly.

Well you can change your cameramode with the V-button (standard) into "chase mode" wich follows rotations of the craft and puts the screen in the right position so that up is up (if you get that^^) but yeah it realy comes down to how you prefer to fly your crafts and what you are used to.

If you can use an Xbox controller then theoreticaly you would be able to get DS4Windows and use a ps4 controller. Then all you need is a HDMI cable, HD tv and you've got the console experience minus the console

I have tried to use both an XBOX and a PS4 controller with LabVIEW on Windows 10 but have not been able to make it work.

I use LabVIEW 2020 SP1 f1 64bit on Windows 10 and have downloaded the MakerHub interface XBOX One and PS4 Controller packages with the VI Package Manager.

The controllers have been connected wirelessly or with USB cable and Windows can connect to the controllers and are visible under Bluetooth and other devices.
My problem is that no controller is found when running an example and I am not sure what the problem is. Are these packages too old and they have stopped working? Is there something missing so I have to install something more? Or should I use some other solution?

why to use XBOX or PS4 if SNES is the only controller that you need? Jkidding

There are several ways to get data from USB or Wireless controllers. I'll point the one i use when i need a fast data acquisition.(by fast i mean testing and prototyping)

First, if you use hidHide for whatever reason, make them visible.

Then, on LabVIEW, under the connectivity pallete, there is the Joystick pallete.
all you have to do is, initialize the controller (you may check ID on the windows controller configuration 0 is the first on list, 1 is the second, so on...)

inside a loop you use the acquire input data.vi to get status from direction, axis and buttons.

outside the loop you use clos input device.vi to release serial communication so that you may play your games.

I am do a quick and dirty proof of concept where I am controlling the tilt of a mirror directing a laser beam with stepper motors and I think it would be nice to use a game controller to remotely control the mirror position.

i always prefer usb, but using ds4windows helped connecting through bluetooth. xbox controller i dont know because i dont have one. i have also used a POKKEN CONTROLLER for nintendo switch, that worked ok wirelessly

My problem with the wireless controller might be that the number of joysticks is limited to 8. All extra controllers I connect don't show up (USB or Bluetooth).
Instead I found this solution which works for both USB and Bluetooth controllers -Joysticks-Access-violation/m-p/3597290#M1007969

I Love the quest 2 every time I boot it up there's a new issue. I use to be able to use my xbox controller with side loaded emulators and gamepass via the oculus browser now the xbox controller when in use will navigate the quest 2 with a dot. The issue with that is now my emulators wont see the controller and gamepass wont see the controller it basically took what use I had for it (being my laptop) and threw it out the door

The controller is up to date but the controller still isn't being detected by gamepass nor my emulators I don't get it use too the controller would only connect in supported applications like the web browser emulators and supported vr games now I can control the quest with my Xbox controllers but now it won't work with the gamepass web portal nor my emulators anymore and here's the firmware version my controller is running

I am having the same exact issue I do know a while back that I was able to use my Xbox Sirius x controller via Bluetooth without any issues whatsoever now there is this like Dot everywhere I look this dot is following me and I can't use the controller in the browser or anything else it kind of works but it kind of doesn't I just want to get rid of this dot which seems to be like a pointer or a mouse it's very annoying this is something that never happened before and no I'm not going to reset my device

I have finally got a solution to this annoying problem and can now use the gamepad via Bluetooth in anything, especially gamepass. Heck I don't even need the app anymore, the browser should now just work. That stupid head tracking mode. Why hasn't anyone at Oculus told us about this...

So for the longest time, I have had this dot problem, head tracking dot as soon as I Bluetooth connect the Xbox controller. Couldn't play side loaded game pass and stuff, well I finally figured it out. I knew it had to be some sort of combo cause I would go nuts and it would work. So here it is.

If you try to use the Xbox Controllers via Bluetooth and after pairing you get a white dot that follows your head, you can use it in that mode to load up what you want but when you say load a Game pass game it does not recognize you when you hit the a button well here's the fix put the Oculus controllers down and on the Xbox controller hit the start button and the select button basically the one right next to the x and the one right next to the left controller if you hold those two buttons and you put them together they switch between the modes, one mode you get that dot which tracks with the head and the other is normal , am now playing again in gamepass with my gamepad again! yay.

So all that time that's what's been bothering me those two freaking buttons have to be pressed together and they switch the Xbox controller into the one mode where it's tracking with your head and then the other mode where it's normally like the controller where you can hit the a button and so forth unbelievable so I cannot play a game pass again no problem hope this helps someone else been driving me nuts for a long time.

Please describe xbox controller
When did this happen? (dd.mm.yy hh:mm) all the time
Summarize your bug xbox series X controller only works as generic
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? play any game on EA desktop with an xbox controller
What happens when the bug occurs? it doent work
What do you expect to see? it to work

I have an Xbox series X controller connected to my PC, it works with every other game on every other store (that has controller compatibility) including standalone games. It is picked up as an xbox controller the button maps show as A,B,X,Y, i can use the triggers fine etc... basically i have full functionality.

Then comes EA desktop (why am i not surprised it only happens with EA?).... It doesn't matter what game i play through EA Desktop. The controller either doesn't work at all or will only work as a "generic" controller. and show as button 1,2,3 etc... and also wont allow me to use the triggers.

Prime example is burnout paradise (does it with other games too). If i go in to the controller options it will show that its detected an xbox controller but pressing buttons on the controller at the menu or in the game does absolutely NOTHING. the only way i can get it to work at all is by Mapping the buttons manually then a generic controller will show in the options but when i press to use say button A for accelerate, it will put it as button 1. I cant use the triggers for anything if i pull them nothing happens and it wont assign it to a function.

@boznoI think im having the same issue. Playing games that I launch through EA app with series x controller, button mapping is all out of whack and cannot be remapped. I've read there is a fix where you can manually add the game to Steam and launch game in steam big picture mode, do some controller settings mumbo jumbo and also terminate all origins tasks in windows to make it work. There are a couple of instructional videos out there for it.
However I cant even do that workaround because Im playing EA games through gamepass ultimate, which requires me to install and play EA games through their buggy failure beta app, not origins. I cant run battlefield 2042 through steam because it forces the EA launcher to open the game even if i add it to steam. I also cant get any EA Play games through origin because I only have access to them via gamepass ultimate. Ive only been pc gaming foor a week and already hate EA with a passion for lack of ability to develop playable games and unwillingness to resolve the bigger issues with their software first
