This list/group has been quiet for too long. FerrellGas has bumped my cost
$1.00 per gallon over TARGA. Did this happen to anyone else?

Thanks!

Thank you, Michelle.

My last fill was February at $2.8505.
There is some variance in the TARGA vs cost 'cuz it was about $1.80 or so last fall.
TARGA for February was $1.33, so the delta is $1.52 -- still 50 cents more than a buck.

Hello Bruce,

Here is the current contract.  The pricing is TARGA price + $0.95 + "logical daily cost (LDC)"  Where LDC is the cost of delivery from the refinery to their Castroville location.  On average over the year prior to our contract the LDC cost fluctuated from $0.05-$0.27 per gallon with it mostly being around $0.10.  There is the possibility of the LDC pricing spiking if they are unable to truck it from a nearby refinery and have to go far afield  to get their propane.

I hope this helps,

Joe

The cost seems to be more expensive in the winter months. I believe there may be some cost averaging when on auto fill. One of my neighbors keeps two tanks and fills them at the nadir to save.

Appreciate your query and the contract information from Joe.

the cost of propane varies greatly from winter and summer.  its supply and demand.  price is the highest in feb/march and lowest july/august,  typically.

It varies seasonally. It used to follow gasoline, loosely. Fracking, more natural gas, more exporting propane, all affect the price these days.
