Hi All,

If you feel the need to complain about your propane service to someone other than the supplier, please contact the association below.

Propane is apparently not regulated by the state PUC (it is not regulated at all from a customer perspective so it seems), so this is the only recourse you have to the pathetic service some of you have received from your supplier.

We recommend that anyone that has left one company for another and had problems getting rid of your tank submit a complaint.  Also, those of you who have been overcharged,  had close out charges or any other bad customer service issues should submit a complaint as well.

you can also complain to the better business bureau at this site:

you can also use Yelp.

Hi BDPUG members.  This is just my opinion, but I think the BD Propane post warrants this response:

For BONNY DOON PROPANE USERS GROUP, if you need to complain about your service from FERRELL GAS,
I think you should complain to Joe Ysselstein or Sigrid Oseberg (~slice members).   If you are in this co-op,
I feel you should stick with the game plan and use the structure already in place.

If you need to complain about another supplier, you're on your own and may want to heed Boulder Creek Propane's advice.

Hi Gary,

People on our list were having issues with their current propane supplier(s) and wondered what recourse they might have,  We researched the issue and discovered that there is not much regulation of the propane industry other than for transportation of the commodity.  For customers of PG&E,  one can file a complaint with the State PUC;  this is not possible for propane suppliers.

We attempted to contact Amerigas about some of their apparent business practices in the hopes that they would be interested in knowing why they are losing customers.  They are still in a state of denial that there is a problem with how they treat their customers in our area and don't seem terribly concerned about their customer service.  We only provided this information to let folks know what they can do.  We purposely left out a specific company name to be fair,  but since you made our opinion known we felt we should explain why we posted the information.  If people don't file their complaints prior to leaving one company for another,  they will not be able to utilize the BBB option and will be left with just Yelp and sending a message to the association,  who we are not certain has any authority to do anything about what is apparently unfair business practices by Amerigas.

hope this helps explain.
