In my travails in switching propane providers,
I may have mentioned a problem with Coast Gas
(now AmeriGas), but maybe not. The short version
is that AmeriGas is a deadbeat company. The long
version follows:
On November 4, I switched to Ferrell.
On November 28, Coast Gas charged my credit card for tank rental.
I complained, and they refunded it December 13. No problem.
December 17, they charged my card again. It has become a big problem.
We called Coast in January, they said "oops. accounting change.
We'll fix it." but with no word, later I contacted my credit card
company complaining of the charge. Three weeks later they said
the charge had already been refunded three days before the charge.
After re-opening the complaint and waiting three weeks again,
the credit card company said, "OK you are right, but it is too
late now". Then they charged interest on two months worth of
bills. Be forewarned.
Since then, there have been more phone calls and letters and
AmeriGas is not responding. I have filed suit.
AmeriGas is a deadbeat. Avoid having them owe you money. Avoid them, period.
