Greeting friends, family, and supporters of boNGO Worldwide!
I
hope this letter finds you all healthy and well, and I apologize if this
email is duplicated to more than one of your email addresses. I've
tried to send it out to primary emails only, though with nearly 500
contacts on this list I'm sure I have made some mistakes. Please don't
hesitate to reply with emailing instructions, or if you'd like to be
unsubscribed from this list (we only send out half a dozen or so
newsletters per year), or with any feedback you'd like to share!
Attached please find an update from my colleagues in Malawi, filled
with Good News and Interesting Information about the progress of our
grassroots projects in the Warm Heart of Africa.
And included here is a boNGO update from my year thus far back in my native United States:
I have been researching graduate institutes to determine which
program best suits my experience and my forward ambition, and I am
thrilled to have found it at the University of California at Davis. The
program is a Master's in Science in Community Development (
and is grassroots oriented around the application of sustainable
development being practiced in and around the Davis community. I intend
to incorporate the Human Development and Native American Studies
Departments into my coursework with the ultimate aim of working with
local communities to adapt and adopt boNGO's approach to grassroots
sustainability here in the United States.
And on that note, I have been busy assembling a board of directors
for boNGO USA, as well as preparing the paperwork for boNGO's
incorporation as a legal entity in California and as a 501(c)3
non-profit at the federal level. I am researching to get the aid of a
lawyer in this process, or alternatively a non-profit incubator as we
are in our incipient stages of formation in the U.S., and if anyone out
there has any advice or contact leads it is greatly appreciated.
Another update will be forthcoming in the new year as this process
is pursued. I wish you all the happiest of days and hope that we have
the chance to find each other's company before too long!
All my best,
David
