We are looking for a Research Software Engineer (RSE) to produce the next generation BoneJ software (http://bonej.org/), working within RVC's Skeletal Biology Group (Michael Doube, Isabel Orriss, Andrew Pitsillides and Chantal Chenu) in Camden, London. The post is funded by a 3-year Wellcome Trust Biomedical Resource Grant.

You will lead the day to day running of the BoneJ2 project, in which you will modernise BoneJ to use ImageJ2's new APIs and n-dimensional image model, and integrate BoneJ with the Fiji plugin ecosystem. A strong emphasis will be placed on community engagement through excellent user and developer documentation, and online and face-to-face education. A crucial component of the project is establishing streamlined user and developer workflows to improve efficiency. You will work closely with the Image2 and Fiji teams, which will include a placement in Madison, Wisconsin early in the project.

The ideal candidate will have a PhD or Masters degree, strong Java skills and specialist knowledge in image analysis (preferably with ImageJ2). Willingness to travel, strong collaboration ethic and excellent communication skills will be 'musts' for this role.

For informal enquiries please respond by email. To apply, visit RVC's Jobs site:

Michael
