Hello,

The Karnataka Quiz Association will be conducting MahaQuizzer, the National Solo Quizzing Championship (now in its twentieth year!), and AsiaSweep, the Arun Veembur Memorial Quiz on all things Asian, on December 14, 2025 (Sunday).

NOTE: Registrations are open on the KQA website with all 2024 venues listed as 2025 venues. If you would like to have your city added/removed, let me know.

MahaQuizzer, as always, will consist of 150 questions to be attempted over 90 minutes, off a printed paper. It will be set by a team consisting of Jaidev Karunakaran, Keshava Guha, Sachin Deshpande, Santosh Swaminathan, and Sujata Sharma.

MQ will be held in all cities from 10:30 am to 12 noon. Reporting time for participants will be 10:00 AM.

The person recording the highest score in MQ across all centres will hold the title of MahaQuizzer for 2025. She/he will also be awarded the Wing Commander GR Mulky Trophy for Quizzing Excellence. The top 16 quizzers will also qualify for MahaMahaQuizzer 2026.

AsiaSweep will consist of around 50 questions, to be read off a ppt and is open to teams of a maximum of two people. Solo participants are also welcome.

AsiaSweep is open to teams of two members, irrespective of age or other affiliations. Solo participants are also welcome to try their luck.  A projector will be required to conduct AsiaSweep.

AsiaSweep will start at 3pm.

We will require a proctor (and a venue) at each city to conduct the quizzes. Please nominate one/two person(s) for this responsibility. We will be sending the question paper to the proctor(s) a few days before the quiz. The proctor will need to take copies of the question paper as per the number of participants in each centre. She/he will also need to courier all used answer sheets (of MQ only) back to the setting team in Bangalore.

The results of both quizzes will be published by the new year. Yes, 1 January 2026.

Kindly announce news of the quizzes in your quiz groups as soon as possible.

Regards,
Hrishi Varma
